Event Information

Location and Time

Our Words Our City takes place on May 7 at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater (1101 6th St SW, Washington, DC 20024).

Our Words Our City begins at 6 PM with a pre-event, first-come-first-served reception hosted by the Washington Spirit. Doors to the Fichandler Theater, where the main program will be held, open at 6:45 PM. The program will begin promptly at 7:15 PM.


Seating

There is no assigned seating at Our Words Our City. All seats are first-come, first-serve. Doors open at 6:45 PM. The event will take place at the Fichandler Theater at Arena Stage. Ushers will direct you to the Fichandler Theater and guide you to open seats.


Check-In

When you enter the building, there will be a DC SCORES check-in table to your left. You do not need to print or show your tickets. However, please have your photo ID ready so our team can check you into the event. 


Getting There

Street parking is very limited around the venue, and we recommend that attendees use public transit options. 

Public Transit: The Waterfront Metro Station (Green Line) is a 5-minute walk from Arena Stage and Metrobus stops are located steps from the venue entrance. 

Garage Parking: The Arena Stage garage is accessible from the northbound lane of Maine Avenue. It is self-park and first-come, first-serve. Parking is $30, and the garage will close at 10 PM. There are also a number of garages available a short walk from the venue at the Wharf.

Accessibility

Accessible seating, restrooms, and parking are available at Arena Stage. Accessible parking in the venue garage can be booked in advance. Please visit Arena Stage’s Transportation and Parking page for more information. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided throughout the performance.


Food and Drink

There will be food and drink for purchase ahead of the scheduled program. Concessions will be open from 6 PM - 7:15 PM and will be accessible up the stairs from check-in. 


Dress Code

Attendees are encouraged to wear business-casual attire.
